10:34:21 <NekoMasterSomeCanadi> Thats another issue too, the cheaper 200-300 dollar chairs have plastic legs and wheels that break after a while
10:34:56 <NekoMasterSomeCanadi> I've been through like 3 chairs in 10 years with all of them having their plastic castor wheels break (either at the point where they swivle or the wheels break apart)
10:35:53 <reldred> I always get that boring looking ikea one with the tall back on it
10:35:54 <NekoMasterSomeCanadi> I'm not doing anything extream with them other than rolling them around to get in and out of them and I'm only around 95-100 kg which shouldn't be that heavy for a chair
10:36:37 <NekoMasterSomeCanadi> reldred: I wish I could get ones with tall backs as the ones they sell here are the short or mid back ones that dont support your upper back leading to neck and shoulder strain

10:39:58 <petern> I find the gas strut goes somehow. It doesn't leak, but it just doesn't go up as high any more.
10:42:50 <LordAro> i went all out and got a (second hand) Aeron a few weeks ago, after my ikea chair started disintegrating
10:43:01 <LordAro> seems alright
10:43:44 <NekoMasterSomeCanadi> Some how the gas cylinders on my chairs have never given out
10:44:10 <NekoMasterSomeCanadi> then again I usually keep the chairs on their lowest setting as the desks i have are low and I'm not a very tall person
10:50:12 <petern> Another "I can't open my email" issue... yeah so what? I'm a software developer...
10:54:51 <Eddi|zuHause> you don't call a doctor when your toilet doesn't flush?
10:55:08 <Eddi|zuHause> he deals with stool samples after all...

11:01:53 <Rubidium> A developer makes software, right? Making and fixing is kinda the same, e.g. making/fixing dinner. So, just fix the damn email software! ;)

12:02:47 <petern> It's exactly the same thing innit 😄
12:10:48 <andythenorth> LordAro: £450 used Aerons are usually bomb-proof, and you can get spares if they need them
12:11:06 <andythenorth> we have expensive office chairs that have lasted 16 years
12:11:24 <andythenorth> and we have bought cheap ones that break after a year
12:11:25 <andythenorth> the usual
12:19:38 <LordAro> that was my thinking
12:19:48 <LordAro> managed to get mine for £400

12:49:45 <petern> No no no, I do not need power meters...
12:55:06 <andythenorth> on your chair?
12:59:58 <petern> No power output there.
13:01:31 <kamnet> My current chair is 10 years old. I've got a little bit of plastic on the padded arm rest thta has come a little loose, but otherwise it's as good as the day it came home.
13:09:19 <andythenorth> I tried fancy chairs and ergonomics and stuff
13:09:31 <andythenorth> I don't seem to be designed ergonomically
13:09:35 <andythenorth> none of them really fit
13:09:58 <andythenorth> "sitting is bad anyway"

14:44:12 <kamnet> My chair has a full mesh back and mesh seat, a copy of a Herman Miller Aeron chair. Not as adjustable like an authentic one, but plenty of airflow, the mesh has
