13:03:04 <coopserver> <macguest> hi lizzie
13:03:08 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Hi there.
13:03:15 <coopserver> <macguest> just got on a while ago .. was mooting what to work on next before I unpaused :)
13:03:28 <coopserver> <macguest> (beside looking at new emails in another window...)
13:03:53 <coopserver> <Lizzie> It's my first time on the #openttdcoop server. ^^
13:04:00 <coopserver> <macguest> ah ok
13:05:54 <coopserver> *** macguest has joined company #4
13:05:55 <coopserver> *** Game unpaused (number of players)
13:06:44 <coopserver> <Lizzie> You have nice network.
13:06:54 <coopserver> <macguest> thanks
13:07:07 <coopserver> <macguest> there would had been a bit more but happy hasn't fixed the broken prices tho so I'm not going complain anyway :)
13:07:27 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Cargo pricing?
13:07:39 <coopserver> <macguest> unbalanced vehicle price
13:07:45 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Ahh.
13:07:48 <coopserver> <macguest> but like i said its nothing to really worry too much about
13:08:06 <coopserver> <Lizzie> I have ever only played with the Japanese set really.
13:08:28 <coopserver> <macguest> lizzie as in an all-japan map except for non-japan industries/etc perhaps? my favourite kind of SP games at times tbh :)
13:08:52 <coopserver> <macguest> I'lla dmit I sometimes like to buy too many of the 'romance' trainsets whenever I run japan passengers :)
13:09:40 <coopserver> <Lizzie> A full JP set, with Japanese trains, usually skipping the early years and starting with electrified trains, Shinkansen being the goal for passengers.
13:10:01 <coopserver> <macguest> mm I start in 1920 anyway .. so I get a bit of both loks for a while :)
13:11:28 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Wah, that's a lot of industries on this map.
13:11:43 <coopserver> <macguest> not a lot if you break them down into their own categories :)
13:12:23 <coopserver> <Lizzie> I haven't played with any of the full FIRS sets yet.
13:12:44 <coopserver> <macguest> mm
13:15:53 <coopserver> <macguest> lizzie mind you there are certain things about japan trains I like in real life too
13:16:00 <coopserver> *** Lizzie has started a new company #5
13:16:29 <coopserver> <macguest> especially the few specific northern-operating steam locomotives .. a single headlight wasn't good for snowy visibility so they rather looked like eyes instead with one left and one right headlights mounted to the smoke deflectors
13:17:03 <coopserver> <macguest> or the one odd siderods-driven 3rd rail electric locomotives used very specifically for a very steep mountain route line (even the diesel-hydraulic trains got pushed uphill by them too)
13:17:11 <coopserver> <macguest> I could go on but I won't nitpick you too much :P
13:18:20 <coopserver> <Lizzie> The headlights seem to be something specific to Japanese trains, I think I have seen them often on photos of commuter trains.
13:18:49 <coopserver> <macguest> well its not very specific to japan tho.. but their winter uses of it might as well as be
13:19:12 <coopserver> <macguest> polish locomotives often had 2 headlights (abit mounted at chassis height not boilertop height) too .. and oversized ones at that :)
13:20:00 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Too bad Poland doesn't have too good train network anymore.
13:22:49 <coopserver> <macguest> lizzie and france is also still a shabble .. lot of strikes .. poor train schedulings .. removing a lot of local/sleeper trains just because "they want everyone to only use the expensive tgv's" and so on
13:22:57 <coopserver> <macguest> but no comment :-s
13:23:09 <coopserver> <Lizzie> I need a bit of help on tracks available.
13:23:19 <coopserver> <macguest> one sec..
13:23:28 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Are they all compatible with each other, sans the electification types?
13:23:38 <coopserver> <macguest> so you thinking of freight or passenger atm?
13:24:01 <coopserver> <Lizzie> I want to build a freight line between one of ports and multiple fruit plantations.
13:24:51 <coopserver> <macguest> ah well I would suggest 3rd rail if you don't want diesel
13:25:06 <coopserver> <macguest> (you could use the dual-power track but it costs a lot more for little merits in my own opinion)
13:25:41 <coopserver> <Lizzie> I see, thanks. How about the different speeds available? Are they all the same gauge, meaning all trains can run on them?
13:26:08 <coopserver> <macguest> oh they're all the same type just different top running speed .. I would suggest using the 180kph one anyway
13:26:24 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Sounds good, thanks!
13:26:34 <coopserver> <macguest> only a few passenger trains can run faster than that but for freight 180 is pretty much the max
13:26:49 <coopserver> <macguest> the best freight wagon atm does only 160kph top after all
13:28:23 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Huh, 8 pounds for a train car.
13:28:51 <coopserver> <macguest> btw lizzie .. don't do any TF .. the locos are ratehr strong enough to not care anyway :)
13:28:59 <coopserver> <macguest> rather*
13:29:02 <coopserver> <Lizzie> TF?
13:29:06 <coopserver> <macguest> terraform sorry
13:29:09 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Ah, yeah.
13:29:44 <coopserver> <macguest> some of my later line have a funny semi-rollercoaster bumps to them but what can i say :P .. just bronco over them these silly engineers/drivers :)
13:29:46 <coopserver> <Lizzie> I see bridges are cheaper than even minimal TF.
13:30:23 <coopserver> <macguest> lizzie except that due to some sort of bug somewhere you can't build a bridge on diagonal coastline tiles without paying a huge amount
13:30:35 <coopserver> <macguest> thats why one of my rail crossing is a weird 1-track squeeze :-s
13:30:52 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Well, worst case I will go bankrupt. ^^
13:31:00 <coopserver> <macguest> haha yeah :) or I'll bail you :P
13:35:16 <coopserver> <macguest> mm you pick a nice port .. theres a lot of fruits a nice rail-way away :)
13:35:29 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Heheh, exactly.
13:35:35 <coopserver> <macguest> and btw feel free to cross my rails near rundington in any way you want to .. I'm not upgrading that network in any way anyway
13:36:05 <coopserver> <Lizzie> I will probably make a bridge or something.
13:36:11 <coopserver> <macguest> :)
13:37:36 <coopserver> <macguest> so anyway for the fruits you want one or two 'freightliner' wagons (its an articulated set) or a few of the 'polybulk hopper' .. both are 144kph so would suit either the Type HA for short train or Class 92 with the long ones
13:37:45 <coopserver> <macguest> just if you want my own opinion on the buy list as it is now :)
13:38:17 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Thank you, will look into that once I build the rail.
13:38:25 <coopserver> <macguest> I'm still running some very old electric loks due to the need of low runcost on a cheap short network
13:38:30 <coopserver> <macguest> but meh :P
13:39:32 <coopserver> <macguest> so anyway yeah I don't know if other players do it but I often use the 'hide' button to make the diesels disappear and eventually to hide old/obsolete wagons too .. keeps the buy list easy and quick to use later in the game :)
13:40:08 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Yeah, that's useful when the game is set to not expire vehicles.
13:40:29 <coopserver> <macguest> yeah...I prefer expiring but meh this isn't my server so I'm not complaining :P
13:40:56 <coopserver> <macguest> I only have six locomotives and four MU's in my buy list right now after all
13:41:05 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Eh, sometimes it's nice to create a historical steam line. :)
13:41:21 <coopserver> <macguest> lizzie guess what? my first loco is not electric :P
13:41:31 <coopserver> <macguest> 2-6-4 Suburban that is (yeah I do like non-tiny tank locomotives)
13:41:43 <coopserver> <macguest> so far don't have any purpose for buying it yet but its in my buy list tho
13:41:51 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Hmm, I assume the electric ones weren't available when you started company.
13:42:07 <coopserver> <macguest> well the 72kph ones were available and thats what I started with alone
13:42:18 <coopserver> <macguest> then eventually the 3rd rail traisn came out and I started using that track too .. etc
13:42:20 <coopserver> *** Lizzie has left the game (general timeout)

13:42:42 <coopserver> <macguest> :P
13:42:43 <coopserver> <Lizzie> Whoops, I'm back.
13:43:06 <coopserver> <macguest> so lizzie as I was saying .. look at my train 5 .. thats the slow small elok you could buy when the game first started anyway :)
13:43:20 <coopserver> <macguest> the faster one came out a bit later on .. and eventually the 3rd rail locos too etc
13:44:05 <coopserver> <macguest> and yeah I did start with passengers (not original trains anymore tho) before then building that ore network which has newer wagons but still retain the original locomotives due to cheap runcost tho
14:03:29 <coopserver> <Lizzie> First train out!
14:03:59 <coopserver> <macguest> heh interesting choice but I guess its not too smelly so it works :)
14:04:06 <coopserver> <macguest> have fun adding more soon btw

14:21:03 <coopserver> <Lizzie> I'm thinking a bit on how to best extend it.
14:21:21 <coopserver> <macguest> fair enough .. the stationr ating isn't exactly happy with you now but np
14:21:26 <coopserver> <Lizzie> And to answer your question, now! :D
14:22:58 <coopserver> <macguest> haha :)
14:32:04 <coopserver> <macguest> anyway taking a break from trains here
