00:50:39 <zooks> trying to add a new metro rail type to the metro track set, but it doesn't show up in the build list?
00:53:08 <Eddi|zuHause> zooks: will only show up when you have a vehicle that runs on it
00:54:11 <Eddi|zuHause> zooks: there are some properties you can set so it shows up when another railtype is available
00:54:15 <zooks> right, but why does the standard underground urban show up? I copied the compatible_railtype_list etc
00:55:28 <Eddi|zuHause> it'll probably be near the place which defines starting year and such
01:03:59 <zooks> ah thanks, it was actually adding an introduction date that fixed it.

02:00:28 <zooks> How do I define a track where ALL possible trains can run on, regardless of trainset,type,power,mono/maglev,etc?
02:01:42 <Supercheese> sounds like the Universal rail
02:02:02 <Supercheese> http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?t=50041
02:08:00 <zooks> well, I actually want to make about 4 track types that do this, so I was hoping there was a way without redefining railtypes

11:54:17 <Eddi|zuHause> there's a pizza delivery guy
11:55:16 <Eddi|zuHause> but walking passengers, bikes and the like need a different model of passing through each other
11:59:46 <Ketsuban> If passengers drive on the right, they just walk past one another. If passengers drive on the left, they bump into each other, say "sorry", then keep going.
12:24:34 <peter1138> do passengers drive? hmm
12:25:46 <Eddi|zuHause> depends on your level of abstraction :P

17:41:02 <Wolf01> the only "virus" I got on my pc was an infected demo of GTA1 with a worm... at that time I didn't even know about viruses... ok, I got sasser too because I reinstalled a fresh copy of windows XP and connected it to internet to download the service pack to fix the holes which allowed sasser and friends to join the party
17:42:31 <Wolf01> I just proceded by reinstalling windows, installed the service pack (downloaded with another pc) and a free antivirus... no more viruses or malwares since then
17:45:06 <Wolf01> oh, but @work ages ago we had a virtual machine on a mac to collect the malwares found on the customers pc, we ran them to see the effects :P
17:45:40 <Alberth> that was fun :)

19:45:43 <andythenorth> totally wrong
19:45:45 <V453000> meh players have no clue
19:45:54 <andythenorth> I do
19:45:54 <V453000> ships do not suffer from different lengths at all IMO
19:46:02 <V453000> well yes that is a problem :P
19:46:10 <V453000> but just realize that many people use pineapple trains
19:46:16 <V453000> and with trains stuff is seriously problematic

19:56:10 <andythenorth> so less to draw
19:56:17 <andythenorth> might actually be able to finish it and release 1.0
19:56:43 <andythenorth> also no need for different hull sizes, just have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 barges at 100 tonnes each
19:56:49 <andythenorth> simples
20:03:41 <V453000> hm :)

21:24:00 <andythenorth> it was in a cupboard, I stripped out the portal axles for parts
21:24:10 <andythenorth> then my 4 year old found it and persuaded me to rebuild it
21:24:18 <andythenorth> he has played with it for 4 weeks solid

23:54:18 <Flygon_> Eddi|zuHause: Melbourne's Trams are designed for 80km/h, have hit 90-95km/h (yes, in service). Reportedly clocked in @ 115km/h for a W-Class / PCC Tram hybrid.
23:54:22 *** Flygon_ is now known as Flygon
23:54:44 <Flygon> (W-Class everything, bar the control equipment, which was PCC)
23:55:13 <Flygon> I wouldn't put it past current low floor Trams (ie. the E-Class) to hit 115km/h on good track
23:55:26 <Flygon> But the charactaristics of the network make this improbable
23:56:39 <sim-al2> I'm sure wire contact would be poor at those speeds too
