10:26:16  <planetmaker> Since then we introduced a whole new version for the NewGRF language which makes the whole thing more consistent and allows further extensions easier
10:27:47  <planetmaker> one of the notable changes is, that it became MUCH easier to make things like industries, new objects etc. aware of their ground. Thus things can easier be made to fit into different landscapes
10:28:09  <planetmaker> Users won't directly notice it. But it makes nice NewGRFs quite a lot easier

10:29:15  <MDGrein> yeah, there's always a bit of a gap between developer features and user features :)
10:29:16  <planetmaker> with newgrf v8, articulated vehicles became possible for many more vehicle IDs. Not directly visible either. But it's e.g. needed for CETS.
