23:45:58 <V453000> nice wagon pm :)
23:48:34 <planetmaker> I "stole" the template from DutchTrains and did a lot of copy&paste. But yes, I like it :-)
23:48:59 <V453000> :)
23:49:15 <planetmaker> I'm actually totally unsure of the difference and purpose of the two versions of the wagon
23:49:29 <planetmaker> In order to use both, they're always used alternatingly now ;-)
23:49:46 <V453000> :)
23:50:15 <planetmaker> I really hope that Dan wakes up ;-)
23:50:24 <V453000> if I have too many sprites, then I just randomize them too or something :) just to use them
23:50:37 <V453000> except for old obsolete sprites which just got replaced/upgraded
23:50:47 <planetmaker> yes, that was my first thought. And then I though "nah, not random everywhere" :D
23:50:52 <V453000> :)
23:51:04 <V453000> randoms are great for wagons
23:51:38 <V453000> makes such a big difference, the wagons dont even have to be amazingly drawn then
23:51:56 <planetmaker> yes. But it's only worth to do that when it's supposed to be like that. Maybe the 2nd version is only at the end of the train? Dunno
23:52:25 <planetmaker> and agreed: random variation adds a lot to a set
23:52:40 <V453000> he, well for pax I usually dont randomize any :) but yeah ending switch is nice too
23:53:30 <planetmaker> and I need an 9/8 engine template... :D
23:53:41 <V453000> 9/8? :d
23:53:49 <planetmaker> yes
23:53:51 <V453000> that sounds ... odd? :D
23:54:17 <planetmaker> 8/8 is normal. 9/8 works for steam engines. And doesn't yet have really bad side effects
23:54:52 <V453000> hm :) I am just happy I stay within 8/8 for all vehicles :)
23:55:03 <V453000> not within, exactly at :)
23:55:03 <planetmaker> hehe :D
23:55:39 <V453000> it is so systematically useful :)
23:55:58 <V453000> autoreplaces from shorter to longer wagons, etc :)
23:56:51 <V453000> lately I did an engine which is half 4/8 engine with an articulated 4/8 wagon behind it... I was very nicely surprised that upon autoreplacing from N/A capacity engine to this, the engine refits to the closest wagon
23:56:52 <planetmaker> oh yeah. Though autoreplace can be tolde to keep train lengths. So a length increase doesn't necessarily kill orders
23:56:55 <V453000> really interesting
23:57:17 <V453000> yeah exactly, increaese doesnt kill them, but you cant do it vice versa without "losing" wagons
23:57:26 <planetmaker> yes, that's true
23:57:27 <V453000> or, missing to describe it more exactly
23:57:40 <V453000> with everythin 8/8 it is just so flexible :)
23:57:41 <planetmaker> not yet, I'd say ;-)
23:57:54 <V453000> I know but that has been talked about for years now hasnt it :)
23:57:55 <planetmaker> I still like the idea of arbitrary replacement
23:57:58 <planetmaker> yeah
23:58:14 <planetmaker> difficult stuff. NewGRFs make it difficult. Too many possibilities
23:58:27 <V453000> I guess
23:58:36 <V453000> that feature would be nice, but yeah :)
23:59:29 <V453000> after all, it can happen even with nuts
23:59:42  <V453000> 16/8 pax trains -> 8/8 other engines break too ofc
23:59:49 <V453000> "break" .. :)
