01:17:40 <Digitalfox> What the fuc*.... I've just tried nightly 8884 and planeset 1.5.3, doesn't work with it, giving a big ! in newgrf settings...
01:18:26 <Digitalfox> Even if it's not 100% compatible, can't i force it to work, i mean some revisons before it worked fine, at lest 99%
01:18:32 <glx> what is the message?
01:18:34 <Digitalfox> least
01:18:50 *** mikk36 [~mikk36@ip22.cab12.ktln.starman.ee] has quit [Quit: The pedestrian had no idea which way to run, so I ran over him.]
01:19:25 <DaleStan> I'm quite sure I didn't intentionally code 1.5.3 so it wouldn't load in Open.
01:19:49 <Digitalfox> Fatal: planesetw.grf is designed to be used with planespeed 1.4 or planespeed on
01:20:10 <Digitalfox> don't know if theres more txt, since this is just what appears
01:20:20 <DaleStan> As I was guessing. Open apparently reports that the planespeed switch is off.
01:20:32 <glx> yes planespeed is not in openttd
01:20:54 <DaleStan> In Patch, that means the planes can sometimes speed up when they break down.
01:21:23 *** mikk36 [~mikk36@ip22.cab12.ktln.starman.ee] has joined #openttd
01:21:58 <Digitalfox> So what changed in openttd ( besides the warning messages ) that makes planeset be refused.. ?? :|
01:22:35 <glx> grf error handling works now
01:22:37 <DaleStan> Open started obeying the code that says "Don't load this file if planespeed is off".
01:23:06 *** mikk36 [~mikk36@ip22.cab12.ktln.starman.ee] has quit []
01:25:30 <Digitalfox> So... And is there some way of resolving this?? Besides implementing planespeed switch ( with i don't know if it's going to be coded in openttd )...
01:26:11 <Digitalfox> I know that DaleStan doesn't like this way, but i like very mutch planeset :)

01:30:26 <Digitalfox> no ideas?? :\
01:35:13 <DaleStan> Digitalfox: Easiest solution: Go back to an earlier nightly, or the 0.5.0 RCs. Second easiest is probably to open the GRF in a hex editor and change the byte at offset 0x80 from 03 to 02. (Second instance of FF 0B ->03<- 1F 02)
01:35:59 <DaleStan> If you know NFO, then decoding and editing the NFO will probably be easier than hex-editing.
01:36:42 * Sacro|Laptop thought NFO editing was hex...
01:37:42 *** mikk36 [~mikk36@ip22.cab12.ktln.starman.ee] has quit [Quit: The pedestrian had no idea which way to run, so I ran over him.]
01:37:53 <DaleStan> Yes and no. Hex-editing a GRF file is prone to issues (such as forgetting to update the sprite length) that don't exist when editing NFO.
01:38:42 <Sacro|Laptop> ahh thats true
01:38:49 <DaleStan> And hex editors make it rather difficult to insert new data, while text editors make it relatively easy.
01:39:01 <Sacro|Laptop> also a good point
01:39:36 <Digitalfox> yeah i know a little of nfo decoding, editing and encoding, i'm going to try -.9

19:29:50 <peter1138> hmm
19:29:56 <peter1138> Refittable to: Passengers, Tourists
19:33:23 <Digitalfox> But doesn't newcargoes, require first newindustries? :|
19:33:33 <peter1138> no
19:33:48 <Sacro> isnt it the other way around
19:33:57 <peter1138> correct
19:34:16 <peter1138> well, they're fairly independent
19:34:39 <peter1138> but newcargos is like a building block of newindustries
19:35:05 <peter1138> it is true that you need the industries to make the cargos useful
19:35:35 <peter1138> but that is not the same as programmatical dependencies
19:36:35 <Digitalfox> I see, but i thought newcargos and industries would had to wait for newhouses, since they would require the changes made in newhouses...
19:36:42 <peter1138> no
19:36:55 <peter1138> industries needs stuff that's in houses
19:37:02 <peter1138> cargos don't
19:37:07 <peter1138> (except for one little bit, actually)
19:37:15 <Digitalfox> ok :)
19:37:24 <peter1138> (a 3 line helper function)
19:39:44 <UnderBuilder> a internal test of newcargos? :)
19:39:55 <UnderBuilder> please share :)

19:56:39 <Rubidium> Eddi|zuHause3: if you can implement an efficient _and_ good looking algorithm for it, it might become possible
19:57:15 <Rubidium> but I think the idea for the current zoom levels in 32bpp is to have differently rendered sprites at different levels, or in absence of them, rescaling the sprites

22:23:23 <Digitalfox> Rubidium: Well don't like it either, but .....
22:23:31 <Rubidium> it makes people think that 0.6 is 60% finished, so that it will be branched in 2 months
22:24:21 <Rubidium> not speaking about the items that are 'in progress' and thus 50% complete when not a single line of code has been written yet
