18:08:48 <Wolf01> andythenorth: I got stuck on a loop of videos about model trains in 1:32 scale from marklin
18:09:37 <andythenorth> ha
18:13:10 <Wolf01> That stuff cost a bit... the crocodile one is 3500€ (I got there from the lego one)
18:14:44 <andythenorth> some
18:25:35 <andythenorth> JGR should get a medal

18:38:28 <Wolf01> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZuZGwcwBDE the only thing I could say is that the reverser should center automatically while increasing the speed, but the rest is flawless
18:41:43 <frosch123> they package a pair of gloves?
18:42:09 <Wolf01> Yes
18:51:46 <frosch123> i don't think that qualifies as a toy
18:56:43 <Wolf01> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d84DadBFc1M this for example works as intended

19:06:48 <Wolf01> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ptz_0AtdYBs aahahahah 14000€ wtf it costs more than my car
19:31:08 <Eddi|zuHause> Wolf01: to paraphrase one of the comments below the video on that same topic: "yes, but there exist cars that cost multiples of your car"
19:31:47 <Wolf01> One could buy the real thing from a scrap yard for that price
19:32:20 <Eddi|zuHause> i don't think so
19:32:43 <Eddi|zuHause> these are typically preserved museum engines
19:36:42 <nielsm> I'm disappointed it doesn't have a water heater to generate actual steam exhaust
19:38:23 <andythenorth> radio controlled live steam exists I think
19:39:39 <nielsm> also I'm not sure what the standard is, but when he drives it the motors seem to produce uneven torque at low speed, in a way that I don't recall seeing in actual steam locos
19:43:17 <Eddi|zuHause> in the comments they mention that the producer isn't an expert in software stuff, and someone else has reworked the decoder to make smoother engine operation
19:44:04 <Eddi|zuHause> (also less noise)
19:54:02 <frosch123> nielsm: real steam at that scale is barely visible
19:55:02 <frosch123> you need to lift the entire lid of a saucepan to make reasonable smoke
19:55:23 <frosch123> or steam

20:18:20 <Boingo> Is there an easier way to spread out busses, that maybe isn't perfect, but is easier than timetables. Even after following the instructions, they still bunch up. This part of the games just isn't fun for me, and I just "want it to work".
20:18:42 <Boingo> I am ok wih sub optimal solutions, as long as they sorta work and don't take so much effort
20:18:52 <Boingo> thanks in advance for suggestions
20:19:32 <Eddi|zuHause> what i usually do is let them run a full loop to record the timetable, then extend the wait times at the end stations so they can catch up delays
20:19:53 <Eddi|zuHause> .. and then use the ctrl+click on "start time" button to spread them out
20:21:27 <Eddi|zuHause> the stations with the longer wait times should have the possibility to overtake, a late vehicle tends to get stuck behind an on-time one
20:26:35 <snail_UES_> andythenorth: still interested in car models from 1895 to today?
20:27:43 <andythenorth> snail_UES_ yes pls
20:28:12 <snail_UES_> alright, I’ll send them over on the forums through a PM
20:28:15 <andythenorth> thx
20:28:22 <snail_UES_> I also included matching car bodies :)
20:28:41 <andythenorth> cool
20:28:45 <snail_UES_> hope they work with your scale… they work fine with my NG wagons
20:29:02 <andythenorth> fingers crossed
20:29:46 <andythenorth> Boingo try a rate limiting station
20:30:08 <andythenorth> have one station on the route that is small (one stop) and tell buses to wait there 5-10 days
20:30:19 <andythenorth> it controls the rate of release, so they space
20:30:38 <andythenorth> I don't understand all the timetable stuff it's weird
20:42:33 <b_jonas> or maybe make the bus full load at the one station where there's usually the most passengers waiting
20:44:24 <b_jonas> nice
20:50:37 <Boingo> Eddi|zuHause: I am missing where to find the overtake option. I have done all the ctrl+click per the instructions.
20:51:02 <Eddi|zuHause> overtaking is tricky to achieve
20:51:11 <Boingo> andythenorth: I set all the stations to 5 days.
20:52:22 <Eddi|zuHause> if they're not articulated vehicles, you can use drive-in (instead of drive-through) stations
